Classic (O'Caidhla) Walking Sticks
This page contains a selection of shorter sticks, for people roughly between 5' - 5' 8". They are crafted to fit best as a walking cane at approximately half the height of the user.
The knobs on our walking sticks are crafted to fit the shape of one's hand, allowing freedom and comfort in movement and its relationship with the length of the shaft allows the stick to meet the ground at just the point where a firm grip is achieved. Thus, when applying pressure to balance oneself, all of the user's joints are aligned comfortably, encouraging correct posture and avoiding the development of any limp, stoop, or back pain from an ill-fitting stick.
These sticks have been designed and made in our family for over two centuries and are still produced meticulously today by our master craftsman, Liam O'Caidhla.
All sticks are finished with an antique brass ferrule as standard. Rubber tips fit over these and are available as accessories. Inscriptions can be added for US$7. (Inscriptions/Accessories)
